We’re upgrading our payment gateway to make your customers' transactions even more secure. To ensure your online payments continue to run smoothly, you will need to check your security software:
- Go to https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze and enter your website URL
- Give the website a minute or so to finish running it’s tests
- When the summary loads, scroll down to ‘Configuration’. You should see a form like this:
- If you see ‘Yes’ next to TLS1.2 that's great! All you need to do is make sure your web browser is updated and you’re good to go.
If you see ‘Yes’ next to TLS1.1 ask your web developer or web hosting company to update the configuration on your site to TLS1.2. You will need to do this by August 31 2021 to make sure you’re able to continue taking online payments as normal.
What is TLS?
TLS is security software used to protect your customers' data on your website and the payment gateway.
Why does it need to be updated?
In line with changing government regulations and to ensure your customers' data remains as secure as possible, TLS1.2 will become the new standard and older versions will no longer be supported.
What happens if I don’t update my TLS?
If you choose not to update your TLS, you may experience issues taking online payments after 31st August.
