Understanding your transaction fees and charges
As part of the Merchant Services Agreement with your Acquirer, your business incurs fees and charges for card transactions. For a full breakdown of your rates and fees, please check your Merchant Services Agreement.
What are service charges?
These are the charges for processing card payments and can vary depending on the type of transaction and the type of card.
What is interchange?
Interchange are industry-wide charges set by the card schemes. They are paid to the card issuer (the customer’s bank) and can vary depending on the type of transaction and the type of card.
What are assessment fees?
Assessment fees (including Specific Assessment Fees) are fees paid by your acquirer to the card schemes on each transaction.

Login to your account
Download the Paymentsense App to dive into your transaction history. For each transaction we’ll show you the service charges, including interchange.
Downloading your transaction data
- Login to your account via the Paymentsense App or visit myaccount.paymentsense.com
- On your dashboard, click ‘Net sales’.
- At the top right of your transaction history you can select the mail icon to receive a PDF export via email. If you are accessing your account via the web you can also click on the CSV icon to download a file.
Your monthly statement from Clover
Around the 5th of each month, Clover (formerly First Data) will send you a statement outlining all your card transaction fees and charges. These charges will be taken by direct debit on or around the 15th day of each month. For advice on how to read your First Data outlet statement, download this PDF.
